Hello! My name is Samantha Halvorson. I am from Granite Falls, Minnesota, it’s about 2 hours northeast of Sioux Falls. Pre-k is one of my favorite ages; there is nothing better than watching kids discover the world through play and big curiosities. I’ve been working in early childhood education for 8 years now, and my goal is always to make school feel safe, super fun, and like a second home!

I graduated from Minnesota West Community & Technical College in 2020 with an Associate Degree in Child Development. I then worked as a paraprofessional in a preschool classroom, as well as a preschool teacher in a learning center while continuing my education. I graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University in 2025 and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a license from birth through grade 3.

One thing I really value in education is the role of play in learning. Play is crucial for children’s development. It helps them grow mentally, emotionally, and physically, while also sparking gravity and imagination. When children play, they engage with the world around them and build problem-solving skills. I also believe every child learns differently. Some are visual learners, while other might learn best by listening or through hands-on activities. I think it’s important to make sure every child has the opportunity to learn in a way that works for them.

Outside of the classroom, I love to spend time with my family and friends, especially my pug, Norman! I love sewing, doing nails, reading, watching films, and riding my bike! I am looking forward to an incredible year ahead with your sweet kiddos!

Our Pre-K class is designed for children who turn 4 by September 1. The class will run Monday-Thursday from 9:00-11:30 am and will follow the school year schedule. Pre-K is led by a certified teacher.

Our Pre-K program at Vibrant Minds emphasizes hands-on experiences, meaningful interactions, and guided discovery as we foster curiosity, problem-solving skills, and independence.
